Dawn Comer, Adjunct Creative Writing Professor of Defiance College, began the SwampFire enterprise by opening her family's country home on July 5-6 to three other people: Jan Bechtel, an artist of the Arts & Humanities Division and the Defiance College chaplain; Mary Catherine Harper, a poet and professor of English; and Rachel Baker, a student of the college.
